Service History

A pre-war Auxiliary Air Force squadron that flew maritime operations from England and in the Middle East from 1939. Disbanded in Italy on 31 July, being reformed in England on 1 August 1944 as part of the Light Night Striking Force (LNSF) within No. 8 (Pathfinder) Group and remained operating  in this role until the end of the war
