Service History

Operated briefly with the Advanced Air Striking Force (AASF) in France. Returned to England in December 1939 and attached to No. 2 Group, later being transferred to No. 3 Group in November 1940. Posted to Malta in October 1941. In January 1942 the squadron returned to England and is believed to have been re-attached to No. 3 Group. On 11 or 12 March 1942 the Squadron was renumbered to No. 156 Squadron, RAF
