Service History

With the exception of three detachments to Coast Command, the squadron served with No. 2 Group from the outbreak of the war until December 1941 at which time the squadron was transferred to Malta. On March 1941 the squadron was disbanded in Malta, and reformed on the same day in England and once more attached to No. 2 Group, Bomber Command; where it remained until May 1943, at which time the squadron was transferred out on the Commands control.
