Flew reconnaissance sorties with the Advance Air Striking Force (AASF) in France. Returned to England in December 1939 and was assigned to No. 2 Group where the squadron was to suffer the second highest losses during the Battle for France and the invasion threat period. Transferred to No. 3 Group in November 1940, continuing in a bomber role for the balance of the war. | |||||||
