Service History | |||||||
After serving in France with the Advance Air Striking Force (AASF) in May 1940, the squadron was placed under the control of No. 1 Group. Detached to No. 38 Group for parachute training in June and July 1942, however no operations were flown by the squadron during the detachment and the squadron was returned to No. 1 Group. The main body of the squadron was then posted to the Middle East in December 1942 and flew operationally there until being disbanded in October 1944. Reformed in the same month back in England this time equipped with Mosquitoes and attached to the Light Night Striking Force (LNSF) under the control of No. 8 (Pathfinder) Group | |||||||
